DAY 2
Today we are going to:
Barong dance
Goa Gajah Temple
Mountain and Lake Batur
Tampaksiring
GOA GAJAH TEMPLE
Goa Gajah, the famous cave entrance is elaborately carved. Inside the cave is a statue of the Hindu character Ganesh (Ganesa) - half elephant, half boy - from which the temple gets its name.
In common with many temples, Goa Gajah has springs and pools of holy water. This is a rather dried up pool - they probably only fill it when it is going to be used.
MOUNTAIN AND LAKE BATUR

Danau (lake) Batur is the largest of Bali’s 4 mountain lakes, with a length of 8km and a width of 3km. Danau Batur sits inside the massive 13km long caldera (crater) which also contains Gunung (mount) Batur (1717m).

The temple of Pura Tirta Empul is built around the sacred spring at Tampak Siring.Over 1000 years old, the temple and its two bathing places have been used by the people for good health and prosperity because of the spring water's curative powers. Regular ceremonies are held for purification.
The holy spring which bubbles up in the inner courtyard of the Tirta Empul Temple in Tampaksiring is believed to have magic curative powers, and throngs of people visit the special bathing pools where clear cool water spouts from mossy walls. Legend has it that the God Indra created the spring, piercing the ground in search of holy water.

Food in Bali is like Alice in Wonderland. Nothing makes sense. You can get a pound of rice and vegetables for next to nothing, and pay 100,000rp for a knat-sized portion of something dribbled with French sauce.Tonight we went to a familiar place, the nasi padang place at the top of Jl. Seminyak. Nasi is rice, and Padang is a town on the west coast of Sumatra. I’ve been there, the place is a hole, but has spawned a style of food that is popular. With nasi padang you get a plate of rice, and get to choose off of many plates with items (fish, meat, veg, egg, chicken, tempe etc.)

In Bali, each social unit-of increasing size beginning with the family-possesses a temple wherein they worship deified ancestors. The family ancestors are worshipped in the house temple, the clan ancestors in the clan temple, the founders of a village in the Pura Puseh, and previously the ancestors of a royal dynasty were collectively worshipped by a kingdom in the state temples. State temples include mountain temples, sea temples, and those at the heart of the kingdom, such as Mengwi's Pura "Taman Ayun".

Bedugul is a favorite place for Balinese family for weekend picnic. Bedugul is also a center of horticulture. We'll find plenty of fruits and vegetables here. Here we find 3 of Bali 4 lakes, Bratan, Buyan, and Tamblingan. Bratan, the largest of the three is perfect place for water sports such as para sailing, motor boating, jet skiing, water skiing, canoeing, etc. Bedugul fertile soil also produced abundance of plants and trees, some of them formed rain forests with their exotic birds, monkeys, and other creatures. Very nice view.

TAMPAKSIRING
DAY 3
Today we going to:
Taman Ayun Temple
Bedugul National Park
Lake Bratan
Tanah lot for the spectacular sunset
LAKE BRATAN
Bratan Lake is located next to Mount Bratan and Mount Catur. It is the second largest lake in Bali. Filling the crater of the inactive volcano Mount Catur, Bratan Lake sits at over 1,200 meters above sea level. The important temple of Pura Ulun Danu solemnly guards the lake. The resort area of Bedugul offers excellent views of the lake, as well as a number of water activities. Providing a cool retreat from the hot and humid regions of Bali, its shores provide the traveler with hotels and restaurants and its cool waters offer parasailing, water-skiing, banana-boat rides and other water sports. Some Japanese caves across the lake were dug during World War II. While in the area hike to the beautiful shrines that dot the lakeshore and forested hills around the lake or visit the beautiful Pura Ulun Danu Bratan.
